I was encouraged by Art Project Girl to create a Donors Choose project to try to get art books for my students. I decided to give it a try! My students love reading if they have extra time in class and I love using books to inspire them. If you are so inclined to help, or have any rich relatives that would like to help about 500 students in my high poverty school, here's the project link.
I've never used Donors Choose before but it's pretty cool! An anonymous donor has pledged to fund half the project if the other half is funded, which is really exciting!
Most of the books are hand me downs of hand me downs and while I try to buy a couple new books each year, I haven't made very much progress. Some new art books would be a blessing in my classroom.
