A Variety of Fall Artwork

Since we're experimenting with choice-based art this year, there was no requirement to stick to a fall theme when this batch of artwork was being created. One of my mini lessons did focus on observational drawing and shading, and I provided mini pumpkins and leaves to use if desired. It was really fun to see what the students chose to work on, and how they inspired their peers to try new techniques. Some students used leaves to make texture rubbings for backgrounds, some tried out blending colors to create value, some tried paint, collage, and mixed media.
Take a look and enjoy the artwork made mostly by 1st-3rd grade students (with a few Kinders mixed in)!

There was quite a bit of experimentation!
Surrealism?
