Continuous Learning

Continuous Learning- phew! That was an adjustment but overall I think it went as well as it could have for crisis learning/teaching. Here are a few random bits from my continuous learning experience.

My students looooove TikTok. I started playing around with posting some demos on there to try to meet students where they are. It's not something I am going to spend a lot of time on, but it was kind of fun to play around.

I don't know if any students actually took the advice on this poster, but I figured I would TRY to help the kids who were overwhelmed due to lack of routine and time management.

Zoom backgrounds! My toddler's room became my makeshift office. He has lime green curtains that worked really well for a green screen, allowing me to change my virtual background every week.

Coping with meme creation. The week that zero kids in my smallest class turned in their assignment was rough, but after getting over wondering what was wrong with ME, a friend advised to "water the flowers" and focus on encouraging the kids who are turning things in instead of the ones who'd checked out. That helped me shift my attitude, and thankfully I never had a zero-participation class again.
