NEXT year I will remember Dr.Seuss's birthday earlier! I had a filler lesson planned for Kindergarten (in an attempt to get all my classes back on the same schedule) so I pitched it in favor of a Dr.Seuss lesson. First, we read a Dr.Seuss book that I happened to have in the classroom, Oh The Thinks You Can Think. After the book, I showed the students how to draw the Cat in the Hat. To make it a little bit different, we used red construction paper and white and gray construction paper crayons. After the Cat in the Hat was colored in, the students added things that he cat would think about!
My Example (I drew in sharpie first for better visibility while the students drew in pencil.)
