Dr.Seuss Question

Today as my Kindergarten students finished early, I asked them to pick a book from my collection to look at or read until the end of class.  (I have all sorts of hand me down books either about artists or just with really cool illustrations.)  The first class was small so I ended up with every student finishing early.  I decided to have them all sit on the carpet and read a book to them.  They all wanted to be read a different book so I pulled four and asked the students to vote by showing me which number with their fingers.  The Lorax was the winner so we read through the whole book and talked about the meaning and how Dr.Seuss was an author AND an artist/illustrator and how being an Illustrator is a possible career in art.  (I love run-on sentences.)

ANYWAY, the whole point of this post was just to tell you what one of the students asked me as they were in line at the end of class.

"In real life, was Dr.Seuss a cat?"

Made me smile. :)
